About Me
  • I am the Director and Group Lead for the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) group at Appian 🚀, responsible for product security 🔒, performance ⚡, reliability 🛠️, and availability. My group consists of 5 teams 👥, totaling 43 direct reports, 5 managers 👔, and a group of 46 members.
  • Completed my MS in Computer Science from Georgia Tech 🎓, specializing in Machine Learning & AI 🤖 and Computing Systems 💻.
  • Achieved AWS Certified Professional Architect with advanced cloud computing skills to build highly fault tolerant, cost effective and scalable solutions.
  • I have built and led multiple teams from scratch. I was one of the first/early engineers 🧑‍💻 in our Cloud Platform team ☁️ in 2014. From 2022-2023, I led the delivery and migration of our Cloud offering from a monolithic/hub-spoke Cloud architecture to a Cloud Native architecture 🌐.
  • At work, my teams and I ensure that all of Appian's services remain always available 🌟, accurately serve user requests 🎯, secure all transactions 🔐, and perform optimally 🏅.
  • I lead, build and manage effective teams with high employee satisfaction, low attrition, and continuous staff growth. Regularly receive highest leadership & management ratings via Glint survey results.
  • Impact driven and versatile business leader who can focuses on delivery and execution on any major business initiatives.
  • Led software  engineering teams as Tech Lead and Engineering Manager.
  • I also encourage innovation that will increase customer value and technology leverage. My goal is to build the right thing for Appian and our customers.
  • Completed Appian MBA - an invite-only senior leadership development program for rising managers at Appian
Technology Updates
  • In my spare time, I actively research on and study about Machine Learning and apply it actively at work.
  • Working with cutting edge technology to automate challenging problems in cloud operations including but not limited to predictive (using Machine Learning) and reactive auto-scaling of web layer, building elastic web layer, monitoring infrastructure health and performance, metrics analysis using data analytics, application deployment, infrastructure and cloud operation automation, etc.
  • I also work on projects (applications to solve daily problems) by developing software/applications which are scalable, maintainable, and highly available.
Leadership Updates
Between 2021 to 2023, I was the Director and Group Software Development Lead for Cloud Services at Appian i.e. responsible for all development of our cloud infrastructure. Almost all of Appian's production workload were managed and run by my group of engineers.

Between 2020 to 2021, I was an Engineering Manager for a team of 12 engineers, and managed 6 direct reports. During this time:
  • Managed team's vision, growth, and roadmap prioritization
  • Principal recruitment lead and point of contact to manage team's talent acquisition of all levels
  • Provided technical leadership on key projects
  • Coached team members and provide support on career development
  • Earnt UPenn's entrepreneurship/intrapreneurship certification via Coursera to improve my soft skill set in management and understanding long term enterprise success by minimizing risk in this competitive technology industry.

Between 2018 to 2020, I was the Technical Lead for the Shared Infrastructure Squad at Appian Cloud responsible for Web Layer, monitoring, analytics, centralized logging, routing, etc.
